Use of Our Church Building for Prayer

Updated 24/03/20

Following the further restrictions announced by the Prime Minister on Monday 23rd March, the Church will remain closed for weekly worship and other activities until further notice.

During the week, from Monday to Friday, we had hoped to be able to open the church for anyone to come in to pray and as a place of sanctuary from the things that are happening in the world.

However, it is imperative that we all follow the guidance in order to reduce the impact of the virus and ultimately to save lives. Therefore we cannot now, very sadly, continue to leave the church open.

Services will continue to be broadcast each Sunday morning at 11.30 and at 10.30am on Wednesdays when a shorter Holy Communion Celebration will be available. These can be accessed via the church website or Facebook page and will be available for a while after if you are not free at the times of first broadcast.

We also have much material available on the church website and Facebook page to assist and guide your prayers.

If you need to contact me for spiritual or pastoral matters, contact details are below. Also if you need groceries, toiletries or medical supplies and have no family to assist, please contact either the Killyleagh Community Association helpline 07808 688120, or me directly.

With every good wish and blessing

The Church will remain closed for weekly worship and other activities until further notice, in line with government and Church of Ireland guidance.

During the week, from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10 and 5, the church will be open for anyone to come in to pray and as a place of sanctuary from the things that are happening in the world.

We can only continue to leave the church open if those coming follow the medical and health guidance issued by the government. This includes washing your hands before coming here and after leaving (sorry we do not have any hand sanitiser available), sitting a distance apart should someone else be in the church, and importantly using tissues for sneezes etc, which should be taken with you and disposed of.

We would also ask that you do not enter if there are already 4 people in the church. Perhaps come again or wait until someone leaves. Also try to open and close doors without using hands to touch them and refrain from using Bibles, prayer books and hymn books around the church. Please bring your own, if desired. Or you may take any books from here and return them when services re-commence.

Services will continue to be broadcast each Sunday at 11.30 and can be accessed via the church website or facebook page. If you need to contact me for spiritual or pastoral matters, contact details are below. Also if you have basic need for groceries, toiletries or medical supplies and have no family to assist, please contact either the Killyleagh Community Association helpline or me directly.

With every good wish and blessing
