The Rector
St John’s Killyleagh is lead by the rector, Rev Colin Darling and is staffed completely by volunteer parishioners, apart from our part-time organist and choir master, Mark Haffield.
A Select vestry, elected each year at our AGM (Easter Vestry), has responsibility for finance and our buildings.
History
Colin Darling was instituted as Rector in August 2016. Having served as Curate for 3 years in St Finnian’s Parish, Cregagh, Belfast, and as intern deacon in Saintfield Parish.
With a career in finance already behind him, Colin follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, who served as rector of the parish for 28 years in the mid-20th century.
Now
Colin is passionate about helping people on their journey of faith. Wherever they happen to be on that journey. He loves to see more people joyfully worshipping God on a very regular basis. He wants to see each and every member of the community have the opportunity to know the love of Jesus and then try to live more like him and follow his teachings better.
